| Scheme description |
Following the completion and adoption of Barton Close, a new access road into the Grove Park site, representations have been received from the Management Company to introduce waiting restrictions. Blaby District Council has also requested the existing unrestricted section of Smith Way, east side, just north of the roundabout junction with Penman Way, also be restricted. Concerns have been raised about the proximity of this unrestricted parking to the Penman Way junction with reports of additional parking on the footway and verges. This is generated by vending vans operating in the area with drivers causing visibility and access problems due to opportune and inappropriate parking. It is intended to provide the restriction on an Experimental basis. The scheme will be assessed to establish whether a permanent Order is appropriate, to make amendments as necessary and allow for members of the public to register objection. The Order is being introduced in the interests of road safety and amenity and has the support of the Local Member and the district council.
