Does everybody have to re-apply for a new badge when their old one expires, even if they have had several previous badges over the years?
Yes, new applications should be completed in every case. See How to Apply for more information.
Yes, but we would suggest you get a new photograph as you would be without your current badge for a short period of time.
No. Badges are only issued where a condition or disability is permanent. Temporary conditions, such as a broken leg or conditions where the effect of a disability is intermittent in nature are not usually eligible for a blue badge. See Who Can Apply for more information.

and a replacement will be issued. A fee of £10 will be payable for a replacement Badge . If applying by post or e-mail for a replacement, do not enclose the fee: we will contact you about paying it when we are about to issue your replacement Badge.
Organisations caring for disabled people meeting the above criteria may be able to get a badge, but this is entirely at our discretion. This applies to specially adapted vehicles and a minumum number of disabled persons applies. Contact the Blue Badge team for more information.
Please let us know of any changes to your permanent address. If you move to within a different local authority area you should advise us of your address change but you can continue to use your current badge.
When it is time to renew your badge, you must then apply to the local authority in the area where you are living for a new badge. See the Gov.Uk website to find out which Council you should apply to.
Your Blue Badge is recognised throughout the European Union (EU). This means that you can take advantage of the parking concessions available in all other EU countries.
There are no current arrangements for you to use your badge outside the European Union, in countries such as the USA, Australia or Canada.
Please note that the concessions provided in other EU countries may not be the same as in the UK. See the full list of the EU concessions
