Highway Enquiries

What is a Highway Enquiry?

In responding to a Highway Enquiry (sometimes referred to as a Highways Search), we are able to offer highway information relating to a specific property on subjects such as:
  • Highway status, extent or boundary enquiries
  • Roads, traffic scheme and traffic management proposals
  • Highway building and improvement lines
  • Public rights of way
  • Developer road proposals and road adoption agreements

What is NOT a Highway Enquiry?

There are a number of areas which do not fall under the remit of a Highway Enquiry. This includes subjects such as:
  • Road maintenance / parking issues
  • Road classifications (A, B and C roads)
  • Planning applications
  • Copies of legal agreements and documents
  • Local search enquiries including CON29 information
  • Land ownership

How to make a request

Note: We can not give out specific information relating to an enquiry over the telephone. Research is always required for any type of enquiry to ensure that we are providing you with the best available information at that time. Please only contact us by telephone if you require us to clarify the fee for your enquiry.

Online (Credit or Debit Card)

We do have the facility to submit enquiries online. If payment is required for your type of enquiry, you can pay by credit or debit card using this method. You can still use this form if your enquiry does not require payment. You are still able to submit a letter with your enquiry when using this form.
