Surface Dressing
Surface dressing is a major part of Leicestershire County Council’s on-going, low-cost annual road maintenance programme.
It is a quick and economic way of maintaining the existing carriageway by spraying the existing road surface with a layer of bitumen and then granite chippings, which are then embedded into the surface.
Surface dressing benefits:
- Extends the life of the road surface by up to 10 years.
- Provides added protection to the road surface.
- Enhances skid resistance making the road safer to drive on.
- More cost effective than full resurfacing (approximately 10%-20% of the price)
Leicestershire Highways Operations is a highly experienced surface dressing contractor. It can provide a fast, efficient and economic solution to road maintenance, which can include all bituminous repairs prior to surface dressing.
