Waste treatment & future plans

We are always looking at ways to reduce the amount of rubbish produced in leicesteshire and methods to reduce the amount  we send to landfill.

Whilst Leicestershire has a good recycling rate, we still need to send less waste to landfill, and part of the solution to this is waste treatment.

Here you will find information regarding our waste plans and policies, and details of the new waste treatment plant. There are also details of our long term procurement plans.

Leicestershire County Council is part of the Leicestershire Waste Partnership. They have their own website which provides information about district collections, recycling campaigns and waste prevention initiatives.
