What happens to your recycling?

glass
Glass can be used in the production of new glass bottles. Recycling glass into new containers has four environmental benefits – energy saving, lower emissions, reduced landfill and a reduction in quarrying. There is currently a shortage of clear glass and a surplus of green glass due to UK imports of wine and beer. Excess green glass is used for aggregate in the construction industry and in the new road material ‘glasphalt’.
