Loughborough Waste Site Construction Work
The site was jointly funded by Leicestershire County Council and the Department for Environment and Rural Affairs (DEFRA) who awarded a £1.2m grant to help fund the work. The redevelopment work started in 2004 and was completed August 2005.
The works have created a better site for residents to use. Waste is no longer tipped over the wall on the floor but is now placed into containers accessed from the newly constructed raised level road.
There has been an increase on the different types of materials that can be recycled including cardboard, green waste, wood and household batteries.
