Greener Schools
Leicestershire County Council and its partners provide a range of services to encourage schools to become greener and endorse environmental education in schools. The Greener Schools Service page on EIS is a one stop shop for advice on who to contact, sources of support and general information to help you promote environmental issues in your school. To access the Greener Schools Site you will need an EMBC login.
Leicestershire County Council also provides a service specifically designed to support schools to reduce carbon emissions, energy consumption and energy costs. For more information on this service please see our SCORE (Schools Collaboration on Resource Efficiency) page.
Greener Schools Newsletter
Each term a newsletter is produced collaboratively by the Council’s Climate Action, Waste, Energy Services, Road Safety and Travel Choice and Access teams to keep schools upto date on all the latest information and exciting events happening both locally and nationally to support schools with environmental issues.
The latest edition of the Greener Schools Newsletter, as well as past edition of the newsletter can be downloaded below.

The Greener Schools newsletter is only being produced electronically. Please pass this newsletter on to the staff at your school but please think before you print this newsletter for colleagues, can it be shared electronically?
Independent schools in Leicestershire and Leicestershire schools converting to Academy status are welcome to access the Greener Schools service area on EIS and receive the Greener Schools newsletter. Please note however that the content focuses on providing advice and information for schools maintained by the County Council, as such we do not guarantee that all information on the site and in the newsletters is either applicable to or relevant for Academies and independent schools in Leicestershire.
