Saving Water
Saving water is important because there is a limited supply and shortages are a problem in many parts of the UK. Not only can you can help protect wildlife like birds and fish that live in rivers and wetlands, but you can also cut the energy needed for treating water, helping reduce Climate Change.
" " On average every person in the UK uses 150 litres of water each day " "
Much of this water is wasted by leaving taps running, dripping or just by not using mains water economically. We have gathered together a number of top tips to help you recognise and manage your water consumption. See Saving Water Tips.
Water can be reused, especially in the garden, see Reusing Water for more information and tips. Leicestershire County Council have being testing a new initiative for Road Water Recycling, you can find out more here.
Droughts and flooding will become more common place in the UK with Climate Change, see information about Droughts and Flooding to find out more.
