Strategic Planning Consultations

The District Councils consult the County Council on certain planning applications, usually major proposals, which have strategic implications, such as major retail schemes and major new housing developments.  The arrangements for these are included in the Development Control Scheme.  However, the nature, complexity and size of these proposals means that the County Council's responses may be reported to the Development Control and Regulatory Board and the Cabinet before being sent to the District Councils.
