East Midlands Airport

The County Council has set up a Joint Working Group (JWG) made up of local District Councils in Leicestershire and with councils from outside of Leicestershire.  The Joint Working Group is made up of the following organisations:

The JWG first met in July 2004 and has met on a number of accasions since then.  The JWG has joined together to see what can be done to persuade the airport to have better controls over noise impacts.

The JWG has met with the airport and other interested parties to discuss the issues.

Recently, the JWG has provided evidence to the House of Commons Transport Committee on their inquiry into the work of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).  The link below directs readers to this Committee's report on the CAA.
