Photographic records
Photos are an excellent way of recording wildlife. You can use them to get your records verified by an expert, and they are a permanent record of the species or habitat. People often send their photos in to the Environment and Heritage Resources Centre, and in the past we have received newts, slow worms, a variety of butterflies and moths, ladybirds a snake eating a frog and a freshwater jellyfish!

These photos were taken in Thurmaston in February by a volunteer. They show the major colour variations that occur in harlequin ladybirds.
