Global Perspectives
It is now recognised that the international and global dimension should be an integral
part of the curriculum and enables learners to engage with complex global issues and explore the links
between their own lives and people, places and issues throughout the world. International school partnerships
are broadening the horizons of our children and teachers, and schools are contributing to community
cohesion through developing learners’ understanding of their own and other communities both in Europe
and globally
Students can learn about political systems in other countries and how their actions
and choices here can affect others in countries across the world.
There is a wide range of programmes and funding available to enable schools to embed
the global dimension in the curriculum, to develop students’ understanding of global issues such as
Fairtrade and support this work with an international school partnership.
