General

Friends of the Earth

East Midlands Regional Assembly
Education for Sustainable Development, Teaching Resources
This resource paper is the result of a study conducted by De Montfort University, working in collaboration with the Centre for Alternative Technology and local partners, and funded by the East Midlands Regional Assembly (EMRA) and English Regions Network (ERN).
The study involved working with pilot schools across the region during 2002/3 to help them implement education for sustainable development throughout the curriculum.
Most of the material contributes to the usual subject areas of Geography, Science, PSE/Citizenship and Design and Technology, although other subjects including Art, Music and Drama are also supported.
The resources are listed as a directory of guidance to support the implementation of a sustainable school programme. Specific topics are also covered under the headings of energy, waste, climate change and transport to allow a cross-referencing of the available information.
