Annual Report
The forum covers the administrative area of the County Council and responds and comments on a wide range of access issues, including the new draft maps of open country and registered land. It also comments on the new Rights Of Way Improvement Plan for the county and encourages the appropriate use and enjoyment of access in the countryside.
More details here.
The Forum is a statutory body, following provisions set out in the Countryside and Rights of Way Act 2000.
Leicestershire has a network of more than 3000 kms of definitive paths. There are also permissive paths, Country Parks and other opportunities to walk cycle, and ride.
All of this needs to be managed and promoted.
