Description

A car park and picnic area giving access to the Grand Union Canal where there is a spectacular staircase of ten locks. It is also the former site of an inclined plane whereby two moveable water tanks on tracks lifted barges up the 23m (75 feet) slope, which was considerably quicker than the lock system. Also have a look at the Foxton Locks website.
