Leicestershire Walking Week 2010     Boots Made For Walking   Rural Life Walkers   Family in Field

Leicestershire Walking Week 4-12 September 2010

Great walks for everyone to enjoy

The programme of walks will be available mid-summer 2010

What is Walking Week?

This was a first for Leicestershire! A collaboration of walking, health and fitness, social, wildlife organisations and local authorities, coming together to provide nine days of walking oportunities, exploring the delights of Leicestershire's countryside, villages and towns.
With guided walks taking place throughout the county, the programme aimed to cater for all ages and abilities. The walks included countryside rambles, health walks, heritage trails, and guided walks with themes, such as a history tour, or wildlife wander.

Is Leicestershire a destination for Walking? Absolutely

Leicestershire is a tranquil haven with over 3000km of paths, through attractive countryside with a wealth of wildlife and history. Coupled with parks, waterside and old railway line paths, the walking week will showcase the county's beauty and diversity.

Why Walking Week?
