Charnwood Forest Regional Park Vision Statement

A Draft Vision Statement for a Charnwood Forest Regional Park (PDF) was open for public consultation from November 2008 to February 2009. The consultation form may be viewed at Draft Vision Statement Questions (PDF). The consultation responses, and replies to the issues raised, may be viewed at Stakeholder Consultation Responses (PDF).
The consultation replies were used to inform the preparation of a Revised Vision Statement (PDF) which has been endorsed by Leicestershire County Council, Charnwood Borough Council, Hinckley and Bosworth Borough Council, and North West Leicestershire District Council. The Revised Vision Statement should be read in conjunction with Fig 019 (PDF).
The vision for the Charnwood Forest Regional Park is as follows :
The unique natural and cultural heritage features of Charnwood Forest will  be managed and promoted through the Charnwood Forest Regional Park. The Regional Park will be recognised as an essential part of the growing communities in the Derby, Leicester and Nottingham area, now and in the future.
The potential options for approaches to a Charnwood Forest Regional Park have been subjected to a Sustainability Appraisal (Word doc).
