Dogs help out at Watermead
Children from Eastfield Primary School took part in a litter picking challenge in
Watermead Country Park - with the help of a team of Newfoundland dogs.
The challenge, involved children from the school, and the Newfoundlands who train
in the park, and took place on the paths around King Lear’s Lake. The children and volunteers collected
litter, which the dogs then carried along the paths using small draught carts.
These paths are among those being improved as part of the £1.4 million Connect2
project which won a share of £50 million lottery money last December in a TV vote.
