Leicestershire footpath and cycle path links through Watermead Country Park

Connect2 Project Update
Leaflet: Leaflet to read | Leaflet to print
Work on giving footpaths and cycle links in Watermead Country Park a major facelift began in January 2009.
The improvements are part of the £1.4 million Sustrans Connect2 project which won a share of £50 million Big Lottery Fund grant in December 2007 in a public vote.
Over the next few years, significant work will be carried out on paths and trails in and around the park. This will improve links into the park including crossings at busy roads as well as bridges which will be transformed to make them accessible to all.
The paperwork that launched the project was signed at Eastfield Primary School, in Thurmaston, one of many local schools to back the project during the public vote – view photos of the signing at Eastfield here.
