Donisthorpe Woodland Park
A 36-hectare former colliery site in The National Forest where there are 20 hectares of mixed woodland and 3km (1.85 miles) of stone-surfaced paths, which are suitable for all users.There are links to the 6km (3.7 miles) Ashby Woulds Heritage Trail and Moira Furnace (for details email moira.furnace@nwleics.gov.uk) along the towpath of the restored Ashby Canal.
Location and Car Parking
Church Street, Donisthorpe, DE12 7PY. Vehicular entrance is shared with the Donisthorpe Miners' Welfare Centre.
Parking: Available at Donisthorpe Miners' Welfare Centre.

Conservation Volunteers Conservation volunteering is a great way to keep fit, meet people, learn new skills and to develop your knowledge of the countryside. No previous experience is necessary, just enthusiasm and a desire to get involved. All kit, relevant training and safety equipment will be provided. For more information have a look at the work programme for each of the three ranger teams.
