Burrough Hill

Location

Between Burrough and Somerby, approximately five miles south of Melton, East Leicestershire. The nearest postcode is LE14 2QZ.

Description

The hill is one of the highest points in Leicestershire, reaching 210m (690 feet). A toposcope at the site indicates landmarks that can be seen from the summit. The hill is crowned by an Iron Age hill fort, with well-preserved ramparts.
The 35-hectare site is owned by the Ernest Cook Trust and leased to Leicestershire County Council.
