The 2012 National Forest Wood Fair will be a two day event for the first time in its eight year history and will be held on Sunday and Monday 26 & 27 August, at Beacon Hill Country Park in Leicestershire.

The Wood Fair will feature timber and logging demonstrations, horse logging, chainsaw carving, pole lathe turning, lumberjacks and tree pruning lifts. There will always plenty of activities and attractions to keep the children busy, from eco art to greenwood crafts, from make your own pizza to scaling the climbing wall.
The Food Field will be packed with delicious local produce and tempting food and drink and the day will end with an exciting charity auction in aid of Tree Aid, with beautiful items donated by various craftspeople in order to raise funds for tree planting to reduce the effects of poverty in West Africa and Ethiopia.
Last yeats National Forest Wood Fair was held on Bank Holiday Monday 29 August, at Beacon Hill Country Park, near Woodhouse Eaves in Leicestershire. It was a wonderful celebration of trees, timber and all things related to wood.
The massive crowds kept on smiling through the rain and the bodgers, loggers and lumberjacks kept everyone thoroughly entertained.
This annual event attracts thousands of visitors from all over the country and more than one hundred exhibitors and demonstrators.
This event just gets better and better,' said Jim Steele, a traditional chairmaker from Warwickshire.
Jane Cook of The Rocking Horse Shop in York was making her first visit as an exhibitor. She said: 'What a wonderful event! I have exhibited at lots of shows over the years but I can honestly say this show had such a family friendly feeling about it, the organisers had worked so hard to make it run so smoothly and everyone had a fantastic day. The Wood Fair is an annual event organised jointly by the County Council and the National Forest Company.
