Local Development Plan

The Mineral and Waste Local Plans set out the aims and objectives for mineral and waste developments within Leicestershire.  They provide policies and proposals to guide future mineral and waste activities indicating where these are likely to take place.
The Plan’s policies seek to ensure that decisions to grant planning permission for minerals and waste development are made in a sustainable manner, providing criteria for the protection of the environment and amenity of residents.
As a result of reforms introduced by the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004, the Minerals and Waste Local Plans will each be replaced by a suite of development documents contained in new Minerals and Waste Development Frameworks.
