Introduction to Emergency Management

AIM :
  • To provide staff with the opportunity to be made aware of the key issues in planning for, and dealing with, emergencies.

  • To enable participants to identify the main functions carried out by local authorities in an emergency.
  • To explain the planning structure and response arrangements of the Local Resilience Forum.
  • To examine the roles of the various agencies involved in an emergency.
  • To provide an overview of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004
