Message in a BottleThis campaing is a joint venture between the Local Resilience Forum and the Lions Club.
The Message In a Bottle scheme is a simple idea designed to encourage people to keep their personal and medical details on a standard form and in a common location - the Fridge. Whilst it is focused on the more vulnerable people in our community, anyone can have an accident at home, so this scheme can benefit anyone, including you.

Wardens Signal Community Approach to Flood Planning - Nov 2008![]() The increasing threat of climate change means that extreme weather events are happening more frequently. With the risk of recent floods across the country becoming more regular, it is essential that local people are prepared before any flooding occurs in this area.
Leicestershire, Leicester and Rutland has developed a new approach to planning and preparing for this possibility here. The focus now is on tailoring flood plans to meet the needs of individual communities, with local residents becoming more involved and specially-appointed Community Wardens visiting houses and businesses in their area in the near future.
Community Wardens will become an integral part of their area’s Community Flood Plan, working with local residents to identify problems and issues, helping local people to prepare for flooding and acting as the link with the public authorities’ emergency planners.
Business Continuity Guidance for Fuel ShortagesEffective business continuity management is the first line of defence for any organisation to ensure that they are able to maintain the delivery of their core services and, in the long-run, to assure the survival of their organisation.
The guidance - Business Continuity Management for Fuel Shortages - is intended to sit alongside other business continuity management tools and assist organisations in the public, private and voluntary sectors in planning for and managing the consequences of a disruption to fuel supplies.
The guidance explains the benefits of effective business continuity management, the possible impact on an organisation of a disruption to fuel supplies and suggests issues and activities that organisations might usefully consider when planning for such a disruption.
