Cossington Mill Locks under water
The emergency management team is now part of the Resilience Partnership. The Partnership also includes Leicester City Council, Leicester City PCT, Leicestershire County and Rutland PCT, Blaby District Council and Hinckley & Bosworth Borough Council. Leicester City Council is the host employer with the staff based in Meridian Business Park. The Partnership has been established to meet each of the agencies emergency planning responsibilities and their collective responsibilities under the Civil Contingencies Act (2004).
The Partnership has the legal responsibiity to produce the following plans for Leicestershire County Council:
  • Major Incident Plan
  • Emergency Centre Plan
  • Pipeline Plan
  • COMAH Plans
The Resilience Partnership is also a member of the Leicester, Leicestershire & Rutland Local Resilience Forum. This forum has been established under the requirements of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004 to identify local risks and ensure that the appropriate contingency plans and control measures are in place.
