The Many Benefits of Placing your Advert with Eteach - Free!

By placing your advert FREE with Eteach via the Workforce Development Team, you will benefit from our national and local promotional strategy. As part of the service we have purchased from Eteach on your behalf, we are able to produce a vacancy bulletin which is emailed to our electronic mailing list on a weekly basis during term time.
Our mailing list includes all Leicestershire Schools and Colleges. PLEASE ENSURE THE BULLETIN IS AVAILABLE TO ALL STAFF IN SCHOOLS.
The mailing list also includes all Leicestershire libraries, relevant universities and colleges, job centres and is sent to individuals, mostly NQT’s, who have contacted us and expressed an interested in working in Leicestershire (currently approx 3,000 individuals).
We have distributed posters promoting our website which contains all adverts placed with Eteach. We have also produced other materials highlighting advertising via the website for promotional purposes which will be used for recruitment events.
In addition to our Leicestershire strategy, Eteach have their own promotional strategy which includes attendance at national recruitment events, promotional links with teaching trade unions and advertising in relevant teaching publications.  The Eteach site is also linked to the NUT, ATL, SHA, NAHT and Independent newspaper websites as well as being heavily advertised nationally and via HEIs. Every advert placed on Eteach receives a free lineage advert in the Independent newspaper.
The Eteach vacancies listing is also available at the Leicestershire County Council "Working in Schools and Colleges" website and the Job vacancies listing.
To place a vacancy with Eteach/LCC website use the proforma. available on the Downloadable Documents webpage.
The Eteach user guide for Schools can be downloaded here. (Warning - Large file! Word document, 9MB)

FAQs

Is this replacing our current advertising arrangements?
We would ask that the practice of producing flyers for the schools post is discontinued. A bulletin containing all current job vacancies in Leicestershire is circulated to schools and colleges each week during term time. We wouldn’t advise you to stop using the usual media to advertise your vacancies. However, we monitor the effectiveness of all media and will keep you advised.
What do I do with overseas applicants?
Check their qualifications and experience and if they clearly do not meet the requirements of the post, you can send an email response advising that the application is unsuccessful. For further information about overseas applicants contact the team on (0116) 305 6873.
And finally, the MOST Frequently asked Question – Is it really FREE?
YES it is free, honestly, no hidden costs. The costs are currently covered by the Workforce Development budget.
Please remember:
  • This initiative will only work to its full potential if ALL schools participate.
  • To look at your emails on a regular basis as some applicants will use email to request application forms.
  • Even if you are not going to be advertising a vacancy in the near future it is worth taking the time to complete your ‘School Guide’ in order to promote your school – small report, prospectus, awards status and add a school logo or school badge(no larger than 10 kb). If you have problems with the logo contact Eteach on 0845 226 1904 and they’ll do it for you.
Please complete and return the Recruitment Monitoring form so that we can obtain a comprehensive overview of the effectiveness of current advertising practices and the Eteach service.

Applications/Enquiries via Eteach

Remember that when vacancies are placed on Eteach, many candidates will contact schools by email.
The new Teacher Application Form is attached electronically to all vacancies so candidates may email you a completed version of the form.
You can attach a full job description and personnel specification to the advertisement on the website, with any other details you wish up to a maximum of 3 separate documents.  Please submit these by email to teaching@leics.gov.uk with your vacancy advert.  This will save postage costs incurred in sending out application packs.

Monitoring of Advertising

One of the advantages of the Eteach services for schools and colleges is that it enables us to obtain more comprehensive information about response rates to vacancies, etc. but this is dependent on yourselves providing us with information after interviews have been held. This information should also help schools assess the cost effectiveness of their current advertising.
Help us to secure your free service with Eteach by assisting with the monitoring process. Please return a recruitment monitoring form for each time a vacancy is advertised, even if it generated no response. This will help our statistics to be as accurate as possible.  The recruitment monitoring form can be found here.
We also contact new appointees to find out what attracted them to apply, particularly if they live outside the county, so that we can inform our advertising campaigns accordingly.

NQTs

During the first week of the new year we attend a recruitment event at Leicester University. We meet many enthusiastic students who are very keen to secure their first teaching post. They are all given information about our web advertising.
In addition to this, we regularly receive lots of emails and telephone calls from students looking for information about how to get a teaching post in Leicestershire. We give out information about Leicestershire advertising with Eteach and currently have more than 3,000 email addresses receiving the Eteach bulletin each week.
Students are obviously keen to start looking for their first job - make the most of our Eteach advertising, start recruiting now to catch the best.
