Headteacher Induction
All newly appointed headteachers be they in first or subsequent headships are entitled to a range of support during their first year in post including:-
- Induction information and planning guidelines
- LA induction day
- Termly headteacher briefings
- Specific seminars and workshops for new headteachers
- Consultancy support from the School Development Adviser together with support from other services as appropriate
- Support for leadership and management
- Skilled helper support for the first two years in post
New headteachers also receive considerable support from local cross-phase development groups, area planning partnership groups (secondary) and from Leicestershire Primary Heads (LPH), Leicestershire Secondary Heads (LSH) and Leicestershire Special School Heads (LSSH) groups.
