The skills grid & tracker are based on the National Curriculum Attainment Targets organised under the headings from the Programme of Study with some adjustments &/or additions.  They may be useful in supporting planning, assessment, monitoring & evaluating etc.  The grids can be made more specific to your school by adding examples of skills expectations linked directly to the school’s own scheme of work & planned activities.  The grids could be used to complement QCA records or form the basis of an alternative system.

These forms show the Programme of Study for each key stage with an added grid.  They can be used as a year group/topic checklist/audit to ensure that all areas in the subject are being adequately covered & therefore support planning & monitoring.
