Planning Exemplification

The resources on this page have been created by leading teachers to support planning. The units are taken from the new framework and are units that have not  already been exemplified. They are presented in different ways but all have a strong focus on the teaching sequence and use a range of strategies to engage pupils in their learning.
Planning Model (Word document) This three part 'stretched' model provides the basic unit plan and should be used as a starting point for planning. A good idea is to jot ideas on the plan before transferring them to a more detailed document. This then provides a useful overview of the learning journey through the unit.
Pedagogic approaches through a unit of work - (Word document) Effective planning takes into account a range of teaching and learning strategies so that learning is interested and varied. This document provides a useful starting point for teachers to think about the different approaches that should be used.
The following planning examples provide sugggestions about how to develop the teaching sequence using different pedagogic approaches.

Year 4 Planning (Zip File)
