About the Service:

The Service provides: -

  • Consultancy advice to schools, colleges and development groups on issues to do with More and Very Able pupils.
  • Direct provision of INSET to primary, high and upper schools.
  • Regular network meetings for primary/secondary ABCO’s.
  • Individual school based support, aimed at raising the quality of provision for more able pupils.
Support for schools identified by LA or OFSTED as having specific issues in providing for more able pupils.
  • Support for Headteachers/Governors in securing provision for more and very able pupils.
  • Dissemination of good practice from development groups and pilot projects in all key stages.
  • Links to other services supporting improvement for more able pupils including
               - The school’s library services
               - Museums Service
               - Leicestershire Arts
               - Study Support
               - Outdoor and Residential Learning Service
