EAST MIDLANDS REGIONAL BROADBAND COMMUNITY (EMBC)

What is embc?
The East Midlands Broadband Community was formed as a result of the Department for Education and Skills Regional Broadband initiative.
The DfES required local authorities to come together and form Consortia in order to receive Standards Fund monies to develop regional 2 megabit symmetrical broadband services for primary schools and 8/10 megabit for secondary schools.
The East Midlands Broadband Community aims to collaborate to promote the development of an integrated regional network of ICT systems, services and content management in the East Midlands.
embc is clearly focused on the educational outcomes to be achieved, and how to deliver the best value for money solutions to achieve these outcomes.
