Learning Support Service

The services we provide

  • Specialist advice linking literacy and numeracy interventions within school provision to the needs of individuals or groups of pupils.
  • Diagnostic assessment of pupils' with significant learning difficulties, including dyslexia at school action and pupils with significant difficulties.
  • Interpretation of pupils' difficulties and advice on educational implications, teaching programme methods and resources.
  • In-service training for teaching and support staff on a wide range of issues related to provision for pupils with general and specific learning difficulties including dyslexia.
  • A display of up-to-date paper and ICT resources related to the teaching and assessment of oracy, literacy, numeracy and to curriculum access at all Key Stages including multisensory material for pupils with dyslexia.
  • Learning Support Service publications including guidance to teachers and work books for pupils.
