Delegation of Resources for Special Educational Needs to Mainstream Schools

Exceptional Circumstances

While a formula works well in most circumstances, special arrangements are needed to help schools with highly unusual or complex needs.
  1. Enhanced Packages - Statement panel approve such centrally funded packages where a child's needs are highly complex and they might otherwise attend a special school.
  2. Mid-Year Transfer Support - A school can receive additional support if a pupil with 25 hours or more support arrives at a non-standard transfer time, and the school already has heavy calls on its delegated resource.
  3. Contingeny Funding - Any number of factors, including SEN, can lead to a school projecting a deficit budget. The contingency mechanism supports such circumstances.
Further details are available through Schools' SEN Officers or Bursars.
