Teaching in Leicestershire

Working in Leicestershire Schools & Colleges

Recruitment Information

Beyond the Induction Year - Continuing Professional Development

In Leicestershire we believe that the best teachers never stop learning - we also believe that the sharing of good practice is essential. Our Professional Development programme recognises this by not only providing off-site courses, but by encouraging teachers to work together in a variety of ways.
Our comprehensive programme of Continuing Professional Development is sent to schools termly. In addition, many groups of schools organise local support networks between themselves.
In Leicestershire we are keen to encourage career advancement. For teachers who aspire to school management we have a high level of involvement with NPQH (National Professional Qualification for Headship) from senior teachers and deputy heads. For teachers who are keen to stay in the classroom and help share good practice, we have an expanding group of Advanced Skills Teachers.
Many of our schools have achieved or are working towards * Investors In People status and your professional development and career advancement will be actively encouraged.
