Leicestershire County Council in collaboration with BBC Radio Leicester has agreed the following procedure for notification of school closures. In the event of heavy snow and severe weather, schools are asked to contact the snow desk lines at BBC Radio Leicester in the first instance. School closure information will then be communicated to the public by radio and on the BBC website out of normal office hours to minimise delays.
