Asset Management Plan for School/College Premises

School grounds.
Improving standards of attainment by effective asset management planning
In order to enable schools to raise standards of attainment the County Council, as the Local Authority, continually strives to improve the learning environment offered by school buildings and their sites. Schools are important partners in this process as are other agencies in Leicestershire and nationally, including the Department for Education and Skills.
Each year the LA, in consultation with schools and other partners, drafts an Asset Management Plan for capital expenditure on educational buildings and sites.
An important part of this documentation is the Statement of Priorities for Capital Expenditure. The document shows how expenditure on school buildings and sites will help to deliver the plans the LA has to raise standards of pupil attainment. The County Council's priorities for education capital expenditure 2004-2007 are identified and the way in which different sources of funding will be joined up to ensure that they are delivered.
