Ethnic Minority Achievement Support Services (EMASS)


The aim of the Service is to work in partnership with schools, parents and other agencies to raise the achievement of minority ethnic pupils by:
  • Supporting bilingual pupils' English language development
  • Ensuring equal access to the curriculum, thereby assisting minority ethnic pupils to achieve their full potential
  • Devising suitable teaching materials and strategies to enhance pupils' learning
  • Strengthening links between parents, schools and the community
  • Promoting effective parental involvement in pupils' learning
