English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
ESOL 33 weeks, 2 sessions per week, exam
We offer courses for learners whose first language is not English and who need to learn or improve their English for life, community and work in the UK. You will learn speaking, listening, reading and writing in English. Classes take place twice a week for most daytime classes and once a week for evening classes in a variety of centres around the county.
We also offer other courses to help with life and work
ESOL and Citizenship 33 weeks, 1 session per week, no exam
Learn about citizenship and how to pass the citizenship test - new 66 hour course at Wigston or Loughborough. This course will give you part of what you need for citizenship or indefinite leave to remain.
You will also need to take and pass a secure English exam at a SELT centre to prove your English language ability for the purposes of citizenship or indefinite leave to remain.
If you need help with your English, you can learn in one of our ESOL classes.
Maths for ESOL learners – 33 weeks FREE class
For ESOL learners who have some knowledge of Maths but need to improve their skills and learn the English they need to take a Maths exam at Entry Level.
ESOL and ICT - 10 weeks no exam
Improve your skills using a computer and learn the words you need to understand to help you.
ESOL for older learners - 10 weeks no exam
For those who don't wish to take an exam – new 10 week at Loughborough Library. This will help you with everyday social situations.
- New learners can enrol on existing courses where there are spaces.
- At other times of the year, new classes may start if there is interest.
Our ESOL course costs are only £2.00 per hour or free/reduced fee for those on certain benefits; exams free. (Course costs £6.00 per hour plus cost of exam if not eligible). Fees are payable in advance. Please ask about paying in instalments when you enrol.
