English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)
ESOL – courses for learners who need help to learn English as a second language. You will learn speaking, listening, reading and writing in English for life, community and work. These take place once a week in a variety of centres around the county.
Maths for ESOL learners – FREE class. For ESOL learners who have some knowledge of Maths but need to improve their skills and learn the English they need to take a Maths exam at Entry level.
NEW! Look out for short courses during the year at different centres:
- Gain skills for work, including English and ICT, with sessions several times per week
- Learn about citizenship and how to pass the citizenship test, including speaking and listening Entry level 3 or above
- ESOL and family learning aimed at parents and children together
- ESOL in care settings, learn the language you need to work the caring profession
ESOL Course Costs *£2.00 per hour or free/reduced fee for those on certain benefits. Exams free. (Course costs £6.00 per hour + cost of exam if not eligible). Fees are payable in advance. Instalment programme may be available please as at enrolment.
At other times of the year, new classes may start if there is interest. Please let us know if you are not able to do any of the courses listed.
