The Physical Recreation Section

Aim: To encourage participation and improvement in physical activity

Physical Recreation
The activity chosen may be one that you are already involved in or something entirely new. Ideally you should take part in the activity for about one hour a week.
Instruction and Assessment of your progress should be carried out by someone who has the relevant governing body qualifications.
If the choice is not listed in the Award Programmes file or on the DofE Web Site approval to go ahead must be confirmed in advance by kellie.ross@leics.gov.uk at Beaumanor Hall.

Physical Recreation
This section of the DofE should provide opportunities for you to enjoy keeping fit, discover new abilities and improve your own personal fitness.
Achievement in this section should be measured by regular participation and improvement in personal performance over the minimum period of months.
Initially you should discuss and agree your programme with your Instructor or assessor, including the content and appropriate goals. You may wish to simply participate in an activity or you alternatively you may wish to work towards an award from a national governing body award.
This section offers you a wide choice depending on your personal preferences, abilities and the opportunities available.
