Nursery Education Funding


All providers have the opportunity to offer Nursery Education Funding (NEF) as long as they are validated. The NEF entitlement for each child aged between the ages of three and four (attending a provision in Leicesteshire) is currently fifteen hours per week for a total of 38 weeks in a financial year. NEF is claimed during Leicestershire's pre-defined term-time dates. For further clarification on term lengths, please see the 'NEF Resource Page' below.
All providers who offer NEF will be subject to visits from Early Learning and Childcare Service Monitoring Officers, who work with provisions to ensure the funding is being managed and delivered correctly.
