What the children did;
The children were eager to have a turn at adding a brick to the wall. They displayed an understanding of outwardly showing kindness to one another. They chose a colourful piece of paper and dictated their kind behaviour for an adult to scribe. The child added the brick to the wall.

Learning outcome:
This activity created discussions about issues and finding solutions. The children developed an understanding of the classroom rules. The rules were put in context for the children and became part of their daily life rather than an abstract idea. The children became extremely helpful- even when it wasn't needed! (So that they could contribute to the wall). One boy tried to be helpful by putting his friend's shoes on for him - his friends cried "but I don't want my shoes on!"
