Capital Monies
We have received a grant from the government of just under 7 million pounds to be spent over three years - the aim of the fund is to:
- create a lasting impact on the quality of environments experienced by children in early learning and childcare provisions
- ensure that childcare is accessible to all children and families
- support settings in flexibly delivering the extension of Nursery Education Funding (NEF) from 12.5 to 15 hours
The fund is for Leicestershire's early education and childcare providers to access and enhance the quality of experiences for children within their settings. A number of settings have already accessed the fund and the projects are up and running already - take a look at out Capital Monies gallery
This is a unique opportunity to significantly enhance the quality of experiences for children accessing early learning and childcare in Leicestershire and is a chance to be innovative and make lasting changes to the physical environments of our early learning and childcare settings, which will effectively support and extend all children’s development and learning.
In recognition of the need for innovation with this funding, the local authority is placing no maximum limit on applications. However, the amounts allocated to providers will be dependant on an assessment of need in the specified areas and also on ensuring the broadest benefit from the investment for Leicestershire as a whole.
