Domestic Abuse Support Services in Leicestershire

The Helpline, Outreach and IDVA services are available across the County and provide support and advice for male and female victims and survivors of Domestic Abuse /Violence.

These pages set out the different referral pathways and notification procedures adopted within each Domestic Abuse Support Service within the County. These procedures should be followed closely in order to ensure that service users receive a prompt and appropriate service, and that they are not ‘missed’ or asked to repeat themselves unnecessarily.

Please check that you are sure of the district/borough in which the Service User lives before making a referral, to ensure that the service user is directed to the correct agency.
  • When referring a service user to Outreach services. Victim Support and the helpline, the express permission of the service user should be sought before a referral is made, to ensure that the service user is happy and safe to receive a call from the receiving agency. However, where a service user is deemed at high or very high risk, this permission is not required and referral should be made to the IDVA.
  • All agencies will provide notification of receipt within 48 hours and will provide notification of engagement if requested.
  • When making a referral, all relevant paperwork and details of work already undertaken should be forwarded to the receiving agency, including any risk assessments.
  • Referral documents are available on this site in PDF format for each agency. Alternatively, contact the agency directly for electronic versions.
  • These pages will be kept updated to ensure that the latest referral process is available to view.
