Obtaining a Copy Birth Certificate

A postal service operates for obtaining copy birth certificates for events occurring in Leicestershire.

PLEASE NOTE:

This service is only available if the birth occurred and was registered in the County of Leicestershire and NOT the City of Leicester.

Information Required

Full names and surname at birth
Date of birth
Place of birth i.e. name of hospital or address if born at home.
Parent's full names
Child's mother's maiden surname

Please enclose a cheque of:

£7.00 for a full copy birth certificate or
£5.50 for a short birth certificate.

Please make cheques payable to ‘Leicestershire County Council’ and allow 3 to 5 working days from receipt of request. Please enclose a stamped addressed envelope.
