Raiders of the Lost Archives

Welcome to our hall of fame. This is a selection of some of our prize possessions – documents, photographs, books, pamphlets and maps (they will all find a place eventually). Here you will be able to see old favourites of ours as well as exciting new acquisitions. This  amusing character sketch comes from a new accession (DE7926) which includes a 'Writing Album' which was filled with watercolours, cartoons and sketches by the friends of the Leicester artist, A H Cooke. The artwork is dated from 1910-1916, with one drawing in 1940. This lugubrious waiter dates from 1911.
