Tuesday the 12th May 2009 was a day of celebrations at Snibston! The day saw both the launch of the new temporary Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition and the Discover Like Darwin events season.

On Tuesday 12th May 2009 Snibston saw the launch the new temporary exhibition - Wildlife Photographer of the Year 2008.

On Tuesday 12th May 2009 Snibston hosted the launch of the Discover Like Darwin season of events throughout Leicestershire. Discover like Darwin is a series of exciting events to encourage naturalists across the county museums and country parks, celebrating Darwin’s 200th anniversary, running from May to November 2009.

To mark the launch, Colin Green, Wildlife Broadcaster, introduced the proceedings and let people know that this was something not to missed!

On the same day, the winners of the Winners of the Griffydam Primary School Photography Competition were announced and awarded their prizes.
