Snibston Development Proposals

Snibston is undertaking an ambitious £15 million project to transform the site into a visitor attraction of the future.  Over the next twelve months we are asking a range of funders for money to develop three main areas of the site. This development is planned to take place over the next five to ten years.
The proposals are:-

Technology Gallery

This proposal is about creating a new interactive gallery that explores the impact of technology on our everyday lives.

Mining Lives

We want to create an exhibition and, possibly, a mine simulation in the colliery buildings which will reflect the coalmining history of Snibston and its communities.

Great Outdoors

There is already a country park and nature reserve at Snibston, we would like to add a visitor centre, nature trails, sculptures, picnic areas and other special outdoor places to enjoy.

Renewable Energies

This proposal focuses on opportunities to showcase current and future renewable energies and technologies at Snibston.
