A Venue With A DifferenceWhere miners once spent long hours bringing coal to the surface, business can now
bring staff and clients to a venue with a difference for meetings, training and corporate events.
Set in one hundred acres of the former Snibston Colliery, the nationally and regionally
awarded science and industrial heritage museum provides a wonderful and unusual venue to hold meetings,
product launches and corporate hospitality events.
Facilities and Services![]() At Snibston we endeavour to provide all our clients with an excellent and
personal service, ensuring that the planning of the event is ‘stress free’ and productive. For bookings,
Contact Snibston’s Sales & Enquiries Team. The Stephenson
Suite, comprising the Stenson and Ellis Rooms, is available to hire
and can accommodate small boardroom style meetings to large conferences, seating up to 120 delegates.
The Century Theatre is also available for presentations & lectures and seats
up to 200.

CateringSnibston can provide a selection of buffet menus for clients to choose from, depending
on your budget and delegates’ taste, we are also licensed to serve alcohol. Catering requirements
must be booked in advance. Please confirm the number of delegates requiring lunch with Snibston’s
Sales Team These details are required at least ten working days before the event.
ParkingParking on site is plentiful and free with a parking area for disabled visitors
immediately outside Snibston’s Exhibition Hall Foyer.
Other ServicesOther services can be arranged at an additional cost. Built on one level,
Snibston provides award-winning facilities for visitors with special needs, including free wheelchair
hire and induction loop hearing systems. Also see our Facilities

Free Admission to the MuseumA meeting at Snibston is not complete without a wander around the museum galleries.
As part of the room hire charge, clients, their staff and delegates have free admission to the galleries.
Visitors can get their ‘hands-on’ thirty scientific experiments and discover the region’s rich
industrial heritage in the Transport, Engineering, Extractives and Fashion Galleries. Time permitting,
visitors can join a lively colliery tour conducted by ex-miners. Colliery tours have an additional
charge per delegate and need to be booked in advance.
