Conference Facilities

Where miners once spent long hours bringing coal to the surface, businesses can now bring staff and clients to a venue with a difference for conferences, meetings and corporate hospitality events. This unique site is a delightful change from standard hotel rooms or conference centres. In addition to providing excellent meeting facilities, all delegates have an opportunity to visit the museum and the museum grounds free of charge.

Facilities:

The Stephenson Suite comprising the Stenson and Ellis Rooms, is available to hire and can accommodate small boardroom-style meetings to large conferences. The Stenson Room seats 120, the Ellis Room seats 30 theatre-style and 20 boardroom-style. Together the two rooms seat 140 to 150 delegates.

Both rooms are on ground floor level and are well equipped with air conditioning, loop hearing systems, light dimmers and projection screens.

The tariffs below are for the room hire only.

Charges for the rooms from 9.15am until 5.00pm:

If early access is required ( between 8.00 and 9.15am) there is an aditional charge of £15.00

For events that start between 8.00 and 9.15 am and/or run from or after 5.00pm up to and including a half hour after the end of the event there is an additional charge of £27.00 per hour per member of staff. There is a minimum of two staff required. If galleries are to remain open the minimum number of staff required is four.
